SUSTAINABLE LIVELIHOOD DEVELOPMENT IN THE CONTEXT OF CLIMATE CHANGE – THE CASE OF THE RAGLAY COMMUNITY IN KHANH HOA
Keywords:

Using quantitative survey data from 2024, the article analyses the livelihoods of Raglay people in 5 communes (Phuoc Tan, Phuoc Dai, Phuoc Binh, Phuoc Thang, Phuoc Tien) in Bac Ai district, Khanh Hoa province, former Ninh Thuan province, based on DFID's sustainable livelihood framework. The results show that, in the year, livelihood capital and human capital are still weak due to low education levels; natural capital has the advantage of productive land but is strongly differentiated; physical capital tends to improve thanks to infrastructure investment; social capital is quite abundant through community participation and mass organisations; financial capital is mainly based on policy credit loans. The article also identifies four factors that strongly influence household income: participation in social organisations, the size of production land, production infrastructure, and the family's access to finance. It then proposes recommendations to improve human resource quality, strengthen community linkages, and increase the efficiency of credit use to promote sustainable development for Raglay people in the context of current climate change.
