SOVIET SUPPORT FOR NORTH VIETNAM'S INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT IN THE PERIOD OF 1954 - 1965

Abstract

Based on archival sources, the article analyzes the role of the Soviet Union in the restoration and development of industry in North Vietnam during 1954 - 1965. Through financial aid, provision of machinery, expert support and training of scientific and technical personnel, the Soviet Union contributed to laying the foundation for Vietnam's key industries such as energy, mechanical engineering and mining. This almost comprehensive assistance not only reflects the good relations between the two countries but also demonstrates the correct foreign policy of the Workers' Party of Vietnam during 1954 - 1965.
