DREAM, GHOST AND OMEN IN CONTEMPORARY VIETNAMESE HISTORICAL NOVEL

Abstract

Integrating effectively the two main traditional and modern factors in the art of building characters, modern Vietnamese writers focus more on the fictional art by some familiar motifs. This article discusses about the way to study modern history Vietnamese novels in the art aspect of fictional characters and historical events by motifs: dreams, ghosts and omens. By this way, this article contributes to clarify the main features to create the success in Vietnamese historical novels.
