Abstract

Researchers have long been concerned about the way human beings think and a lot of studies have been conducted to find out more about the way that people think and interact in their social environment. The paper aims at providing a clearer view to Vietnamese readers about the Conceptual Blending Theory presented by Gilles Fauconnier and Mark Turner, in which both the models and process of the conceptual blending are described. The paper also highlights the vital role of culture in the search of the criteria for selection mapping in the blend space. As culture varies from one country to another, separate studies on the involvement of a particular culture in a specific language are highly recommended.
