Abstract

The feminist movement in the Phu nu Tan van Press (1929-1934) was a large social movement not only advocating for the rights and advancement of Vietnamese women, but also advocating for the rights and progress of all Vietnamese people. This movement originated and evolved as a result of the influences of the world feminist movement, but its activity was inevitably ruled by the traditional concept of gender. Therefore, we refer to this movement with the world feminist movement, and with the concept of gender in traditional culture to see the preservation of traditional elements, and the evolving from the traditional to  the modern concepts of the feminist movement in early twentieth century.
