THE IMAGE OF GREEN TOURISM DESTINATION OF BẾN TRE PROVINCE

Abstract

Ben Tre province, beside the common characteristics of other places in the Mekong Delta, has a unique property to let it be called "The Land of Coconut". In this research, field observations and tourists’ opinion survey were used to determine the type of products that could create image of a Green Tourism destination for Ben Tre. The results of tourists’ opinion survey proved that the operating model of the Green Tourism destination have been meeting the expectations of tourists and the Green Tourism destination's market tends to develop well. Image of Ben Tre's Green Tourism destination has started to form inside the tourists’ mind. To develop this image, Ben Tre’s tourism industry should support the gardeners, especially the agricultural cooperatives, and help farmers to increase the sales of agricultural products and create more jobs for the local people.
