Abstract

The smart village approach has garnered significant attention from numerous countries worldwide, prompting extensive research efforts. This model is widely regarded as a suitable approach for addressing the sustainable development of rural areas and enhancing the overall quality of life for individuals residing in these regions. The development process in rural parts of Vietnam, particularly in the Southern countryside, is confronted with numerous obstacles, including climate change, urbanisation, inequities in living conditions, migration, and environmental concerns. This study examines various smart village models using a multidisciplinary approach, incorporating research and surveys. The findings of this study have important policy implications for the advancement of rural communities in the Southern region of Vietnam.
